Simple gratitude tips for a happier life

We live a hectic life, prioritising our many daily tensions and stresses and loving ourselves becomes something that is much easier said than done. However, a balanced and loving relationship with ourselves is the key to unlock a happy life.

Now, you may not always get what you want. And perhaps you won’t always be exactly where you want to be or look the way you want. But remember: there are a lot of people who will never have what you have right now. You are lucky. So use your frustration to motivate you rather than stop you. You are in total control of the way you look at life.

The simplest and most effortless habit for acknowledging the great things you have in your life today is to take one or a few minutes every day to focus on what is already here and that you can be grateful for. You can easily incorporate this practice in your daily routine, taking a couple of minutes in the morning when you wake up, and a couple of minutes when you review your day just before bedtime.

You can start by asking yourself: what can I be grateful for in my life today? Don’t just look outward. Take a look at yourself too. It could be that you finally got done with that task you had been procrastinating on for a while or that you helped people by being a good listener. Try not to focus on the big and obvious things, but on small things such as a delicious lunch or a nice chat with a friend.

And last but not least, openly express your gratitude to the people in your life. Make a habit of it. You will make other people happier too!
