The Natural Store, one of Falmouth’s longest running independent health food stores, is committed to helping improve the lives of the community and has raised vital funds for local elderly charity Falmouth Age Concern.
Falmouth Age Concern is an independent, local charity serving Falmouth, Penryn and surrounding villages. Their primary purpose is to alleviate loneliness and improve health and wellbeing amongst the elderly via a volunteered befriending service.
The Natural Store has raised £120 through a charity raffle involving many customers old and new. Two lucky customers won prizes, first prize being a hamper of groceries and second prize being a £25 gift voucher to spend within the new store on the Market Strand.
Paul Johnson, Owner presented a cheque for £120 to Peter Maxsted, Manager at Falmouth Age Concern and were thrilled with the support from the local community.
Paul said, “Running a charity raffle is a fantastic way to raise not only funds but awareness of our local charities. We are grateful to our customers who have really got behind the chance to donate in aid of Falmouth Age Concern. Knowing the money will be used to improve the lives of lonely and vulnerable people within Falmouth and Penryn is the best part of all.
“We have a collection box in our shop for Falmouth Age Concern as well as other charities, because we really believe in their cause. The charity helps many vulnerable and lonely adults every year and currently have 80 active volunteers. Falmouth Age Concern make a real difference to our elderly community, and we are very happy to help where we can.”
The Natural Store is now an official Partner Organisation for Falmouth Age Concern and will be continuing to organise fundraising activities and raising awareness of the befriending service they offer from the spring when their brand-new café opens.
