Bri-Cake (or Avocado and Raw Chocolate Torte) Recipe

Here is the much anticipated recipe for the divine chocolate feast, created by our very own Amy, to celebrate the Natural Store’s 20th Anniversary.

The recipe is named after Amy’s friend ‘Briony’ who gave her the recipe:

Bri-Cake (or Avocado and Raw Chocolate Torte)

Base Ingredients:

  • 200g pitted dates
  • 150g mixed nuts
  • 75g pecan
  • 75g almond
  • 1tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cold water
  • pinch of salt.

 Method:

Crush and combine the base ingredients either by hand or in a food processor. Pat down into a parchment lined round cake tin and freeze.

Topping Ingredients:

  • 200g raw cacao
  • 4 avocados
  • 150g coconut oil
  • 300g set local honey
  • vanilla pod or drop of vanilla essence
  • pinch of salt

 Method:

Blend the topping ingredients in a food processor or with a stick blender. Pour on top of the frozen base and return to the freezer to firm up. Take out and refrigerate before serving. Top with seasonal fruit, flowers and leaves or just enjoy on its own!
